To get the exact same functionality that one gets with BibleWorks "out of the box" with no add-ons ($299), one would have to pay well over $400 in Accordance modules. I'd welcome comments about the issue.
I'd also welcome the original poster to make another comment stating their opinion in a less slanderous way, and less anonymously at that.Joe Weakshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16379505860158377008noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-10143682.post-1133418995304954812005-12-01T00:36:00.000-06:002005-12-01T00:36:00.000-06:00> I found it much more economical and > satisfying...> I found it much more economical and
> satisfying to invest in Virtual PC (which
> runs very well and fast on modern macs) > to use the few PC apps I must have.

Unfortunately, Libronix runs like molasses with Virtual PC on a Mac. When I first switched to the Mac in 1998, I bought my initial Accordance modules from the Gramcord Institute rather than OakTree.

Of course, the Windows Gramcord software has never been as nicely implemented as Accordance, in either past or present versions.

I still don't really understand what happened between Gramcord and OakTree to make them go their separate ways, but Accordance never missed a beat and has moved forward and only gotten better in my opinion.R. I owned Gramcord and found BibleWorks a much better program. My assumption was that Accordance was just Gramcord for the Mac. I was wrong and I repent :-)

I own the basic package now and am hoping to scrape enough together in January to get the Scholar's Package--I really do like Accordance.Matthewhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07730380523612763354noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-10143682.post-1133214708492071122005-11-28T15:51:00.000-06:002005-11-28T15:51:00.000-06:00I found it much more economical and satisfying to ...I found it much more economical and satisfying to invest in Virtual PC (which runs very well and fast on modern macs) to use the few PC apps I must have.Targumanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08226685819553164313noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-10143682.post-1133197015983814772005-11-28T10:56:00.000-06:002005-11-28T10:56:00.000-06:00I am hoping that the Libronix Reader from Logos wi...I am hoping that the Libronix Reader from Logos will be free on the Mac like it is in Windows. There's no way I could imagine switching from Accordance to Logos, especially with all that I've invested in Accordance (which will always have a hand in keeping me on the Mac, too!).

I used Logos briefly before moving to BibleWorks in my pre-Mac days. It was okay, but not stellar. I assume they have improved over time, but I just can't imagine them luring Accordance users away.

However, the vast library that Logos has will be a huge selling point for lots of people myself included, who will undoubtedly run both systems (Logos and Accordance) on my Mac.

After Logos announced their Mac version (seems like eons ago), I downloaded the Windows version to run in VirtualPC and bought a couple of books to see how the interface works. I was promised by a rep at Logos that anything I purchased in Windows would also work in the Mac version when it was finally released. Of course, who knew it would take this long!R.
